Internet Gurus and cutting edge

Or at least that’s what the SMH thinks I am. :)

The icon section today has a little article on what 5 “internet gurus” think will be the future of the web.

It’s interesting to see what we all said in common. I had the feeling everyone else would talk about Twitter, but really interesting to see all the thoughts on location and peer to peer based services. Lachlan has scanned in the full article here (Oh the irony of an article about the future of the web that only appears in the print version of the paper).

For those interested, the links I recommended were Dopplr, Rumplo (my newest obsession), and Etsy. They edited my copy about Etsy, but I originally mentioned it’s the perfect place to get a silver two-headed cat, a steampunk necklace, Day of the Dead calavera, or vintage handbag.

Between Rumpo and Etsy, is it any surprise I never clear my credit card?

Thanks to Nick Galvin for writing the article and John Allsopp for the introduction.

UPDATE - this article now appears online at the SMH.
