Jeff Ciba Stearns has created a beautiful, introspective and honest movie about the last 9 years of his life, using post-it notes and a felt tip pen.
I don’t usually watch 6 minute Youtube videos (short attention span) but I found myself really relating to this one. It’s funny how life passes you by - you start off with huge dreams and lofty goals and through daily to-do lists and other post-it notes you suddenly turn around and wonder where all the ambition went. I used to want to change the world… not just change the world, but leave my stamp on it and have people talk about me for the next hundred years (ahh to be 19 again). Now I’m happy just being happy… but I do wonder if I’ve become complacent and suburban (the worst possible insult) or if you just naturally mellow as you get older.
The thoughts you have after watching a post-it note video and a few glasses of pinot noir on a rainy night.
