My second most hated font (after Times New Roman) is Comic Sans. It’s a stupidly goofy font and makes any use of it look ridiculous and/or cheap. I once stayed in an absolutely gorgeous 5 star resort in Thailand and everything was perfect - except all their marketing was in Comic Sans. It really disappointed me as I thought they were really letting the resort down by looking unprofessional.
Ugh - such an ugly font.
But I digress.
Four students from the Royal College of Art have taken on the stupid typeface to create a “sister” typeface to Comic Sans, Serious Sans.

I find this really interesting -
Struggling to understand what could possibly be good about Comic Sans, Valerio — together with partners Hugo Timm, Filip Tydén and Erwan Lhussier — found that the doggedly goofy font’s irregular forms made it one of the easiest typefaces for dyslexics to read.
I like their new take on the font (although it’s never going to be close to my favourite).
“It’s so incredible that so many people love Comic Sans,” says Valerio Di Lucente. “At the same time it’s one of the typefaces most hated by designers.”

times new roman is overused but it´s a good font… i think it’s unfair to Stanley Morison to hate it so much.
of course I can’t say the same about comic sans :)
Comic Sans - urgh! If I ever get an email from someone using this font it undermines ALL their credibility.
I think they will be a goofball - and three out of five times they will be a goofball!
Serious Sans is very nice though…
