Read at work in peace

I’m so grateful I no longer need to utilise sites like this but Ms Fits has just pointed out a great site called Read at Work. If you’re gasping with boredom but also have to be careful about who can see your screen, the site disguises itself as a Windows desktop with the links in windows folders.

I had a temp job in London a long time ago where I worked on reception - we weren’t allowed to read books or magazines or do anything that didn’t look like work. But the phone only rang maybe once an hour and there was nothing to do except answer the phone. I have never stared into space so much - I used to actually watch the seconds hand on my watch tick around, just for something to do. I would have paid a thousand dollars to access a site like Read at Work.

Go ahead and read your novels in graph mode.

Gotta love those Happy Prince spreadsheets.

And voila - you look like you’re working but you’re actually enjoying some fine spreadsheet literature.

A bit like the old Boss key they used to have in games during the 90s

That is great! It goes to show how old work ethic is starting to clash with new work ethic when apps like this are around :-)
